About NamingRealm

NamingRealm is a free fantasy name generator built for players, writers, and worldbuilders. Whether you're creating a character for a D&D campaign, populating a fantasy novel with named NPCs, or building out the geography of your homebrew world, this tool gives you authentic, original names instantly — no account required.

How It Works

Each generator uses a Markov chain model trained on a curated corpus of authentic-sounding names for that race or category. The model learns the phonetic patterns — which sounds follow which, how names begin and end, what syllable structures feel right — and generates new names that follow those same rules. The result is original names that feel genuinely elven, dwarven, or draconic rather than random combinations of letters.

For place names (cities, taverns, kingdoms), a word-combination system pairs thematic adjectives with location nouns in the tradition of historical English place names, producing settlement names with implied character and history.
